Report on the Participation of the Moroccan Delegation
Within the framework of international cooperation among stakeholders in the field of global cuisine, and in implementation of the cooperation and partnership protocol, upon a gracious invitation from the Golden Ladel Association for Tourism and Cooking, a Moroccan delegation consisting of ladies and gentlemen, headed by:
– Mr. Mohammed Amroun, the head of the Moroccan mission,
Chef BOUCHRA CHOUAI , an international judge in the art of cooking,
– Chef Mariam Ramzi representing the city of Biougra,
– Chef Asmaa Baniat representing the city of Ait Melloul,
– Chef Najat Baba representing the city of Ait Melloul,
– Chef Samira Achaour representing the city of Agadir,
– Chef Zahra Zumehan representing the city of Essaouira,
– Chef Fatima Qarqari representing the city of Meknes,
– Chef Souad Hamdaoui representing the city of Oujda,
Traveled to Antalya through Istanbul on Sunday, the fifth of February 2024, following a warm reception with flowers by Mr. MESUT ÖNAL the international cooking expert and director of the festival. After settling in at the hotel and having some rest, the Moroccan delegation headed to the festival venue on Monday, February 5, 2024, to participate in the official opening. The event was attended by a significant delegation representing various civil and administrative figures, including the personal presence of the mayor of Antalya, who is a key partner in organizing this edition.
The festival, attended by more than 490 participants from different countries worldwide, provided a platform for everyone to attend, follow, and taste the finest international dishes. Simultaneously, an important and diverse exhibition in the field of cooking and its equipment and supplies took place. This gathering served as an opportunity for exchanging experiences and experiments among all participants, highlighting skills and talents through official competitions.
The Moroccan delegation had the chance to participate in all competitions with delicious dishes that preserved the authenticity of Moroccan cuisine, using natural ingredients from our rich land. The dishes were infused with modern innovations, taking into account the advancements in this field. The dedication and hard work were well-received, resulting in Morocco securing 16 gold medals, six silver medals, and one bronze. Additionally, the Moroccan delegation was honored with the creativity and teamwork award, and Ms. BOUCHRA CHOUAI was recognized as one of the best international judges in the field of cooking.
During the closing ceremony held at the exhibition on the evening of Thursday, February 8, 2024, gifts were exchanged between the participating delegations, marking the end of this successful edition with the hope of renewing the meeting in Morocco in late April. This gracious invitation was admired by all members of the participating delegations.
The return to the homeland took place on the morning of Friday, February 8, with a welcoming reception at Mohammed V International Airport, featuring flowers, sweets, and beverages for the Moroccan delegation that honored the country on the international stage.
